v2.7

11 February 2021

General

Hammer icon
Internal fixes, process and performance improvements.

v2.6

19 January 2021

General

Lightbulb icon
Mostly an internal focus for this release, improving lots of underlying functionality in how Payzip operates and how we onboard new users. No real changes in what you see in this release.
Hammer icon
Stripe gives us several updates as a club completes signup and previously we were sending "Congratulations" emails with each update. Now we only send one. Same amount of celebration, but all in one email.

v2.5

17 December 2020 (yes, two releases in a day!)

General

Lightbulb icon
Added some loading spinner icons so that you know when we're getting data from our servers.
Lightbulb icon
Some minor performance improvements - with some major ones to follow in upcoming releases!

v2.4

17 December 2020

General

Steering wheel icon
Invalid email address notification - when you send an email (invoice, reminder, receipt) to a member whose email address is invalid, we'll now tell you about it on the dashboard and elsewhere in the system, so you can correct it. We're excited to bring this feature to you! You can read more information on it over at the Payzip blog.
Hammer icon
Clicking off the Getting Started modal didn't show the tip about how to get it back - now it does.
Lightbulb icon
Some minor improvements to the onboarding flow for new clubs, particularly if you're a "Back" browser button user.

Invoices

Lightbulb icon
When you add a recipient to an existing invoice and send it, we now add "Invoice created" as the first activity on the member's copy of that invoice.
Lightbulb icon
When sending reminders to invoice recipients, we've renamed the button from "Resend invoices" to "Send reminders" to make this a bit clearer.
Hammer icon
When viewing an invoice in-detail, we weren't always telling you if that invoice had overdue payments. We've fixed this.
Lightbulb icon
When you send an invoice payment reminder, we'll now show you who sent that reminder and when - useful for management teams, so you don't inadvertently send multiple reminders to members in a short space of time.
Lightbulb icon
In a similar vein, we also now show which management team member created the invoice in the first place.
Lightbulb icon
When you add an an additional recipient to an invoice, we now use Step 2 & Step 3 from the invoice creation process, to give you a consistent experience (i.e. you can still customise the invoice before you send it to the new recipient(s)).

v2.3

26 November 2020

General

Lightbulb icon
Added a couple of "waiting" spinners to operations that take a few seconds, just so you know we're not ingoring you.
Lightbulb icon
When there are no invoices, members, or payments to show, we've added an option to quickly clear any filters that may be set. Of course, there might actually be no invoices, members, or payments too, but that's a thing only you can change really.
Lightbulb icon
We've moved the `Export` button to the bottom of each table and made it an `Export to CSV` link instead. Being alongside the count of (optionally-filtered) members/invoices/payments makes it more obvious what it is you're exporting.
Lightbulb icon
Don't you hate it when using a `forgot password` feature and it doesn't bring your email address through? So do we. We now bring the email address you tried logging in with across to the forgot password screen. If only everyone would do this!
Hammer icon
After verifying your email, there could sometimes be a blue header banner on your Payzip account with no text in it. It's a lovely blue, but now we only show it when we've got something to say to you as well.
Hammer icon
At the moment, Payzip only supports club member operations on mobile. We weren't telling our club admin users this though, so until they get their psychic powers back, we've added a message asking them to use the desktop version for the moment. We are working on a mobile view for all users though.
Lightbulb icon
Speaking of mobile, the stats box and tabs now shrink out of the way when scrolling, so you're just left with the time and status filters. Neat.

Dashboard

Lightbulb icon
We now keep the `Create Invoice` button on the dashboard, so if that's what you've logged in to do, you can get right to it!

Invoices

Lightbulb icon
If an member invoice's outstanding amount is less than £1, we prevent online payment. This saves the club unnecessary additional service fees.
Hammer icon
Invoice reminder preferences were not being... um... remembered. Now when you exclude an invoice from being reminded, we'll set that properly and show you the struckthrough bell icon when viewing your member's copy of the invoice.
Hammer icon
When you add a note to a member's invoice, we now again show you a note icon for that when you're viewing all your members' invoices.
Hammer icon
When viewing a member's invoice, the button to close it was called `Cancel`, which made it sound like you were cancelling the invoice itself. We now call it `Close`, to allay any fears.

Members

Lightbulb icon
When using `Select Members` mode, the `Manage Groups` option was inside a dropdown `called Options` containing one entry. We've moved this out onto the header bar now, so it's more obvious you can select members, and then manage the groups they're in.
Lightbulb icon
`Delete` and `Edit` member buttons are now shown directly on the header of the member record. They were hidden away in `Options` previously. (Thanks, Simon T!)
Lightbulb icon
We now show the member's email address when viewing a specific member, as well as when they're all shown together in a table. (Thanks again, Simon T!)
Lightbulb icon
We've added `Import Members` as a separate button in the `Member` section of the system. You can still import members using the omniplus in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, if you prefer.

v2.2

12 November 2020

General

Rocket ship icon
You can now export the content of any on-screen table to CSV, for use elsewhere. The export will contain exactly the data you’re seeing, so if you’ve applied any filters or searches, you can control what goes into the CSV file.
Lightbulb icon
If you make a mistake during the Stripe signup part of creating your club, we now let you start that bit over, whilst keeping your Payzip approved club.
Lightbulb icon
Moved the email updates checkbox to the verification confirmation page, because you’ll take more time to consider it there, right? RIGHT?!
Lightbulb icon
A whole stack of mobile optimisation for members’ dashboards (management team members, we’re not forgetting about you!).

Dashboard

Lightbulb icon
`Total paid` has been renamed `Total collected` to make it clear that this is how much money your organisation has collected in total member payments. We also now show how much of this has been collected via card/mobile payments.
Lightbulb icon
We now show the `Next payout` amount (the money which has cleared in Stripe), and also the amount `being processed` by Stripe but not yet cleared.
Hammer icon
When the `Avg. payment time` is 1 day, we now say “1 day” rather than “1 days”, because grammar.
Hammer icon
If you’re lucky enough to have two clubs, when you switched between them, the dashboard figures would still show for the first club. Each dashboard now shows the correct figures for its own club.

Invoices

Rocket ship icon
In the Invoices index, we now show the number of recipients who have paid the invoice out of the total recipients for that invoice.
Lightbulb icon
We’ve increased the `Comments` and `Footer` parts of the invoice to a maximum of 500 characters each. We’ve also added a remaining character count, so you can see exactly how much space is left. You can insert more than 500 characters (e.g. if you’re pasting some information into the field), but you’ll need to edit this to 500 characters or fewer before you can continue creating the invoice.
Lightbulb icon
Payzip now asks if you’re sure you want to send the invoices when you click Send Now in Step3 of creating an invoice.
Hammer icon
The Pay Now button is no longer shown when viewing a paid invoice on mobile.
Hammer icon
An invoice batch could hang around if the last member in the batch was deleted. Now we clean everything up properly.
Hammer icon
Sometimes the `Pay Now` button wouldn’t appear when viewing an invoice on iOS with Chrome as the default browser. It should now always show.
Hammer icon
Some older email clients don’t show the button properly when viewing an invoice email. To help members understand that this is a clickable link, we’ve changed the button text to “Click here to view”.
Hammer icon
On mobile, clicking on the invoice or payment didn’t take you to the detail view of that invoice or payment. Now it does.
Hammer icon
Previously you could - if you were that way inclined - pay the invoice twice, if you opened it unpaid in two separate tabs. We now check before you pay that there’s still an unpaid invoice to pay!

Payments

Hammer icon
In the previous release you could record manual payments (cheque, cash, BACS) but not remove them. They’re now only as permanent as you want them to be.

Members

Hammer icon
Payzip would ignore members when importing them if there was a space at the end of the email address. Now we chop any spaces from before and after the email address, to make sure we bring everyone onboard.
Hammer icon
When you import members, the import button now says “Import [n] rows” rather than members, because the same member can be in the file more than once, if they’re in multiple groups, for example.
Hammer icon
Group names were previously shown in the filter box in the order they were created, which is basically of use to no-one. They’re now listed alphabetically, which is of use to most-one.

Settings

Hammer icon
Previously, you could send a management team invite to someone who was already a management team member. We’ve fixed this.

Support

Lightbulb icon
The `Show Guide` link (to show the Getting Started guide) has moved from the user menu in the top right-hand corner to the `Support` area in the sidebar menu.

v2.1

26 October 2020

General

Rocket ship icon
Added a Getting Started checklist and guide for new users.
Lightbulb icon
Our emails to you now include a plain text version too, giving you something readable if your email client doesn’t support HTML. It also means there’s less risk of our emails being marked as spam.
Lightbulb icon
We now show clearer error messages when you try to create a club name in Payzip which we know Stripe won’t accept (for example, one with an apostrophe in the name).
Hammer icon
Average payment time calculation previously included part-payments. It now only counts fully-paid invoices when calculating this figure, as it should.

Members

Hammer icon
Searching for a member on any page other than page 1 didn’t work. Now it does.
Hammer icon
The group name “pill” could get a little ugly with longer group names. We’ve made it uniformly-beautiful now.

Payouts

Lightbulb icon
Payouts received from Payzip will show `Stripe Payments UK Ltd` as the payer on your bank account, with a transaction reference of `PZ-20xx`where `xx` is the current payout number.
Lightbulb icon
Payouts email now links directly to the specific payout in Payzip.
Lightbulb icon
We show when a payout is pending (i.e. we’ve made the payment to you, but it isn’t in your account yet).
Steering wheel icon
Added searching by member and invoice on the individual payout page.
Steering wheel icon
Added searching by payout reference to the payouts index page.
Lightbulb icon
Added a minimum balance of £10 on Stripe accounts to be eligible for payouts. This is important to manage our costs. The money stays in your Stripe account and will be paid out in-full once the balance is £10 or more. (Note: if this causes you an issue, contact us at help@payzip.co.uk)

Settings

Hammer icon
Club settings was insisting on knowing your club’s website and Twitter/Facebook information when editing the club information. Now it doesn’t.
Hammer icon
Additional management team members were unable to drill-down into member’s invoices and payments. We’ve fixed that.
